Prints & Multiples
Opening receptions: Thursdays September 19th
Printmaking is often a reflection of an era’s socio-political commentary or industrial aesthetics, a glimpse into the milieu of the time. Limited edition prints, lithographs, woodcuts, etchings, engravings, serigraphs. An ideal way for new art aficionados to affordably begin to add to a collection of reasonably priced limited-edition fine art.
Purchase pieces from this exhibit online.
A variety of skilled processes* used to create authentic fine art prints will be displayed at Gallery Z in September, from a number of artists representing various printing techniques. Multiple processes provide insight into the history of printmaking and to the creation of multiples as reflections of an era's social, political, industrial or contemporary aesthetics. Assorted techniques used by printmakers include limited edition prints, lithographs, woodcuts, etchings, engravings and serigraphs.
*Traditional Printmaking processes for fine art printmaking include: Lithography (Planographic), Intaglio (Engraving, Drypoint, Etching, Aquatint, Carborundum, Mezzotint, Photogravure), Relief (Woodcuts/Chiaroscuro, Linocuts, Monotype) and Screenprinting (Serigraphy, Stencil).
Featured artists include Mihail Chemiakin, Albrecht Durer, William Hogarth, Harutune Hovhanesian, Otto Lindstead, Carol Travers Lummus, Aristide Joseph Bonaventure Maillol and Alan Metnick.
