Marty McCorkle
​January’s Featured Artist

Marty McCorkle is January’s featured artist. Born in Los Angeles, Marty also spent time in San Francisco and as of many years ago has made his home in the Philippines.   Marty is known for his distinctive deconstructive style of painting, digitally manipulating his photos into oils on canvas, a marriage of digital technology and traditional painting.  Also renowned for his individualistic and color-laden depictions of the dynamic perspective of the deconstructed human figure and the lush colors of the South Seas, his work is in collections worldwide.

Aghassi (Boghos Taslakian), b. 1964
​February’s Featured Artist

February’s featured artist is Aghassi (Boghos Taslakian), b. 1964, who began both painting and sculpting while young. He received his art education at the Art College of Armenia and the Academia di Belle Arti di Venezia and has exhibited world-wide, including Venice, Italy; Beirut, Lebanon; Geneva, Switzerland; Spain, Belgium, Armenia; New York, Pennsylvania and California. Exquisite sultry portraitures exalt the human form while their softly blended backgrounds seem to embed deep emotion. Aghassi has been living and painting in Armenia since 2006.
