Martin Barooshian

An excellent Printmaker, Painter, and educator, was born in Chelsea Massachusetts. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Art Boston, from which he received two degrees in the years 1952, and 1955. He was able to travel to Europe in 1952, upon receiving the Albert H. Whitlin fellowship. He received his B.S. in Education from Tufts University, along with his M.A. from Boston University. Paris 1956 He studied printmaking at Atelier 17, working with S.W. Hayter. His earlier works are inspired by surrealists: Gaugin, William Blake, and Gorky. Barooshian is still an active member of the Armenian community, as well as an educator of the fine arts.
