Celebrating Community

For the month of May 2013, the Gallery Z Public Art Window will be partnering with the organization Rites and Reason Theater

The Department of Africana Studies' Rites and Reason Theatre's mission is to develop new creative works which analyze and articulate the phenomenal and universal odyssey of the African Diaspora. Through this commitment, Rites and Reason has developed creative works that have explored the experiences and expressions of peoples and cultures from across the world.

This month's event will be held on Thursday, May 30th, from 5-7 pm. (Gallery Z's Art, Food & Wine Creating Awareness for a Cause)

About the Public Art Window

The Public Art Window at Gallery Z aims to work with different non-profit organizations to bring a specific message of awareness to the community every month. Here at Gallery Z, we believe that "public art" belongs to every person and should memorialize the past or educate the public on current events. It should foster a sense of pride and belonging in the community, as well as making it a more aesthetically pleasing location. We believe that public art is essential to creating a strong community.

Our Art, Food & Wine Creating Awareness for a Cause event is held at the gallery on the last Thursday of every month.

This months Art, Food and Wine event will be held on Thursday, May 30th, from 5-7 PM.
