Helena Stockar has been a prominent member of the Rhode Island arts community since the 1950s. She attended the School of Design in Prague and received a degree in graphic design. She lives in Shannock, Rhode Island, and has exhibited locally, nationally, and internationally, with her works being found in many major collections both in the United States and abroad. Working for more than fifty years as an artist, and using vivid colors with experienced brush strokes and mature compositions, Helena Stockar deals with many themes, among them home, war, aging, motherhood, and achievement.
